Especially disgusting: just bought a brand new Touch from the Apple store, bring it home, hook it up to itunes, and discover that the OS is obsolete, and I gotta pay $10 over the $300 I just paid to get the latest. I'm done with all things Apple.

Thanks for your comment, I've found that although I like a lot of the Apple technology, I simply can't afford to get sucked into the never-ending cycle of proprietary peripherals and upgrades.

Owning a Touch as well as an iPhone I really understand your anger.
Last Year I purchased an iPhone just to find out I can't send nor recieve anything other than Text in my Messaging system.
Then I found I couldn't capture video either.

Now, less than a Year later Apple decides to bring out the iPhone 3s or whatever thay call it, forcing me to buy an iPhone all over agian in order to text Photos and take video clips, forget it Steve, no way.
My next Phone will either be a Blackberry or something form Motorola.
I'm tired of the Apple propriatary Rollercoaster.
People can complane all they want about Windows but at least with Microsoft as well as other companies I'm given a choice to do something with it.
In order to get an iPhone or iPod Touch to do anything you have to Jail Break it, then the Warranty is void.
Jail break is a perfect term because after buying an Apple peoduct you end up in Steve Jobs Prision.

The 3.0 update was free for my Phone which did nothing but add a stupid voice memo program, did nothing for the lack luster Camera, that's it.
I guess it fixed some bad Bugs but that's in the background, things I can't see.

Then I had to pay fpr the update to my Touch and although it fixed the same gaping security holes, nothing else...

As soon as my Touch and iPhone wear out that's it with me and Apple, thank God I didn't purchase one of their Laptops or Home Computers.
Microsoft has it's faults, but at least I can fix them myself with third party applications without the wrath of Bill Gates, good luck Apple Inmates, good luck indeed.
